Martin Lawrie - keyboardsMartin is a brilliant musician who can adapt himself to any musical situation and indeed there have been times where his special talents have been called upon during the evenings entertainment.After leaving school, he decided to make music his career and went to music college. During this period Martin undertook many musical projects and became involved with working local bands around the Reading area until his graduation. Martin then turned professional and joined the National Youth Orchestra and also played keyboards with bands backing top name cabaret artists like Jim Davidson and the late Frankie Vaughan. His offstage musical career has included the role of keyboard Marketing Manager at Casio Keyboards, making training videos with Jools Holland, and recently demonstrating new products for Korg at the big international music fairs - sometimes sitting alongside keyboard legends like Keith Emerson and Stevie Wonder. Currently Martin is the Head of Keyboards at the Berkshire Young Musicians Trust. He also has his own jazz fusion band Curfew and also makes regular appearances with The Committments and La Vida Santana (The Santana Tribute band) Although Martins love of jazz is very apparent in his playing, he can
apply himself to any style of music, and this together with his use
and comprehension of the new music technologies, makes him one of today's
top musicians. |
