2008 was a busy year musically although there were not as many gigs to be had. (Must be a sign of the times). I did more work for Kevin Hockley and also was involved with Martin Lawrie on writing arranging and recording music for a new musical about Helena Rubinstein. I was knocked out by the talents of Melody French and Louise who came down to sing on the tracks I recorded for Ant Stevens who is the lyricist for the project.

I wrote and recorded music for the West Berks promotional documentary which my colleague Seam Caveille and I filmed and made 2 wedding videos (one in Eire), again writing and recording the music for them.

At the end of the year I worked for Sean again on his latest film Shadows which is about the local happenings when 2 B17 Flying Fortress bombers collided in mid-air near Newbury during the last days of the Second World War. At the screening I also performed a selection of war-time songs.
The film had coverage on BBC South Today and an American Family who were descendents of one of the bomber crewmen travelled from California to view the screening. I had previously done music and sound for Sean on 4 of his previous films.

From the start of 2009 I worked with Carole Lesley on her new album Pink Shoes with me co-writing the majority of the material with her.

During 2010 Uptown Traffic got back together and Ken Saunders who was left the band just before I joined back in the 'seventies rejoined too. We played at his 60th brithday party. The band is still going strong and doing local gigs.

At the end of 2010 and into 2011 I composed and recorded 22 original songs for a dance school on the Isle of Wight.

Chris

In June 2011 I lost one of my lifelong friend and Onyx-partner Chris Robinson to cancer who I will miss terribly and will always remember the great times playing with him as Onyx

After losing Chris it was very hard to keep Uptown Traffic going. Chris had been the lead singer and with his high voice range, all the song keys were far too high for anyone else to sing in. Martin Dixon from Quartz joined the band temporarily to help out then joined as a permanent member. Dave Benson who was an early member of Uptown Traffic who I replaced, joined as second lead guitarist and vocalist a little while later. It had taken 2 good men to replace Chris and showed the huge contirbution he had made.
